Transforming lives for the better.That is what Youth County Projects Kenya and Vijana Network International Limited are good at.Launch of the Improved Cookstove Project in Wundanyi Mbale Ward in Taita Taveta County on the 15th of July 2016 where 166 Improved Cookstoves were constructed by 40 youth at various households within a week.

The County Government through the Ward Equalisation Fund funded the initiative while Vijana Network International Limited through its product Youth County Projects Kenya mobilised resources and provided the Trainers.

This initiative has reduced unemployment among the youth,indoor air pollution and deforestation.Prior to this to be precise in the year 2014, youth from Wamunyu and Yathui Ward in Machakos County,42 of them, were also empowered with capacity building skills on how to construct rocket stoves.Within a week they had constructed 119 improved cookstoves and have currently constructed more than 1,000 improved cookstoves in Machakos County.

The 40 artisans were trained at Mwagafwa Youth Polytechnic.Some of them are students there.
