Recruitment of Civic Educators by Uraia

This is to inform you as part of Uraia’s strategy they  intend to engage County Civic educators, who will be tasked with providing civic education to community members at the grassroots level.Interested candidates should send their CVs to info@uraia.or.ke by 30th September 2016.

The subject line should take this format:

The Post; the name of the County one is applying to work in, the Constituency, and the name of the candidate.

e.g. Civic Educator; Nairobi; Kamkuniji; Ali Nyerere;

 

The CV should not exceed 2 pages and should follow the format provided.

The minimum requirements are as follows

  1. Education Level: minimum grade C (plain) at KCSE.
  2. Should be an indigenous resident of the county and constituency under which s/he applies for.
  • Should meet the leadership and integrity requirements as per chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya (2010)
  1. Basic knowledge on the Constitution of Kenya (2010).
  2. Should have experience in community mobilization and facilitation skills.
  3. Should be available to undertake this work and to travel within the sub-county as required.

Added Advantage:

  • Should have at least 2 years’ experience in working on governance and democracy field.
  • Prior experience in governance, democracy and civic education work.

The successful candidates will be informed of the results not later than two weeks after the deadline.

My name is Joseph Otieno Sagwa, am introduce myself to you that I am a Deaf-born gentleman from the community with disabilities, mainly the linguistic Disability minority (Deaf) where I grew, learnt, volunteer and socialized with those with related disabilities. I am interested to be available in applying for any opportunity to be offering for me to be part of as Inclusion against the no room for the Deaf Youths to be contain of deaf friendly services in the inclusion position that may are currently looking to fill.

According to AFRICAN YOUTH CHARTER, youth or young people refer to every person between the ages of 15 and 35 years. Article 22: Leisure, Recreation, Sportive and Cultural Activities (of African charter)
1. Young people shall have the right to rest and leisure and to engage in play and recreational activities that are part of a healthy lifestyle as well as to participate freely in sport, physical education drama, the arts, music and other forms of cultural life. In this regard, States Parties shall:
a) Make provision for equal access for young men and young women to sport, physical education, cultural, artistic, and recreational and leisure activities;
b) Put in place adequate infrastructure and services in rural and urban areas for youth to participate in sport, physical education, cultural, artistic, and recreational and leisure activities.
Article 20: Youth and Culture (of African charter); Encourages the local production of and access to information and Communication technology content.
