African Youth Commission (AYC) officially announces #AYCGA2018: The African Youth Commission’s Annual General Assembly Meeting. The second edition of #AYCGA is scheduled to take place in Victoria Falls, Republic of Zimbabwe from 23rd to 27th of March, 2018. We would be delighted to host you and request your valuable inputs to the theme of the meeting ‘Championing Youth Oriented Agenda for the Promotion of African Unity and Development’ and conversations at this year’s meeting.
This year, under the patronage of Honourable Patrick Zhuwao, the Minister of Labour and Social Services of Zimbabwe, the GA will bring together 100 delegates from Africa and Diaspora for a very extraordinary session. Delegates will participate in a pre-youth forum to discuss the role of young people in contributing to the attainment of African Union Vision: ‘’Integrated, prosperous & peaceful Africa driven by its own citizens & representing a dynamic force in the global arena’’. The pre session will allow delegates from Africa and Diaspora to work in a seven-committee team on Agenda 2063 Aspirations:
- A prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development
- An integrated continent, politically united and based on the ideals of Pan Africanism and the vision of Africa’s Renaissance
- An Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law
- A peaceful and secure Africa
- An Africa with a strong cultural identity, common heritage, values and ethics
- An Africa where development is people-driven, unleashing the potential of its women and youth
- Africa as a strong, united and influential global player and partner
