Learn how to jumpstart your filmmaking career

The program is split into two parts:
PART 1: ONLINE DOCUMENTARY TRAINING

The first part is a standalone online courseĀ  on documentary filmmaking essentials.
It’ll be offered as a free certification for visitors to the American Center y at the U.S. Embassy, Nairobi. Students will have life-time access to the curriculum which will continuously be updated and improved.
Over the course of the class, participants will engage in a challenging curriculum that teaches filmmaking fundamentals and techniques.

PART 2: FILMMAKING INTENSIVE
The second part of the project is a one-time, week-long filmmaking intensive (based in Nairobi) that is offered to the first group of students to complete the course.
Selected applicants will be invited to complete the online course. In the final week of class, Stories Found instructors will join the students in Nairobi to help them create a short film, and ultimately apply the knowledge that they’ve learned.
The Stories Found team will further assist the students in submitting their films to festivals.

Applicants will be applying for the filmmaking intensive. The online curriculum will be a free resource available to visitors of the American Center, Nairobi in August 2018.

How it all went down at the East Africa Regional Youth Summit in Kigali, Rwanda

1STIt was a pleasure as Violet Mbiti Foundation to have been selected to represent Kenya at the East Africa Regional Youth Summit that took place in Kigali,Rwanda.

Special thanks to Honourables Joyce Kamene Women Representative Machakos County and Honourable Patrick Makau Member of Parliament Mavoko Constituency for sponsoring the trip of the delegates from Machakos County.We also got to interact and engage with Members of County Assembly Machakos County in Kenya who also attended the summit.

Topics discussed were on Entrepreneurship,Gender Equity and Equality,Synergy among youth in the East African states and Governance.It was an honour for our Executive Director, Violet Mbiti,to have been invited to the panel that discussed Economic Inclusion in the East Africa region.
