While political parties and religions seek to differentiate sections of the nation, One Nation Under God (ONUG) seeks to bring them together by focusing on their commonalities as One People One Nation.

No one needs to be reminded that our world is facing many serious crises, and that visionary and courageous leadership is needed.

One Nation Under God (ONUG) campaign brings together a diverse and distinguished leaders around the country.

Together we will explore models of good governance for our world and seek to address the root causes of conflict and suffering that are structural and cultural.

It goes without saying, your participation is vital. Please invest your whole heart. The more you give the more you will receive.

That’s the basic concept behind “Living for the Greater good”

WHAT IS ONUG

Vision 2030 envision a society that is equitable, just and peaceful.

It predicts a society in which people co-exist as one indivisible entity with prosperity for all regardless of tribe, religion, gender, age or even social status.onug

However, this still remains a mirage due to many social and economic challenges.

“One Nation Under God” (ONUG) is a an integrated multi-sectoral initiative that invokes the Kenyan Constitution and National Anthem to promote National Cohesion and Sustainable Peace in the Republic of Kenya.

Inspired by the Global Peace Foundation vision that all humankind is One Family under God, ONUG is rallying all Kenyans from various backgrounds to celebrate the beauty of our diversity by focusing on our commonalities.

Thus, in the phrase “One Nation under God,” the preposition “under” indicates the relationship of the Kenyan people to God and vice versa.

This thinking on patriotism ties well with the concept “One Nation Under God”, aptly borrowed from the first stanza of the Kenya National Anthem and the preamble of the Kenyan constitution which states:

“ We, the people of Kenya-ACKNOWLEDGING the supremacy of the Almighty God of all creation:

HONOURING those who heroically struggled to bring freedom and justice to our land:

PROUD of our ethnic, cultural and religious diversity, and determined to live in peace and unity as one indivisible sovereign nation:

RESPECTFUL of the environment, which is our heritage, and determined to sustain it for the benefit of future generations:

COMMITTED to nurturing and protecting the well-being of the individual, the family, communities and the nation:

RECOGNISING the aspirations of all Kenyans for a government based on the essential values of human rights, equality, freedom, democracy, social justice and the rule of law:

EXERCISING our sovereign and inalienable right to determine the form of governance of our country and having participated fully in the making of this Constitution:

ADOPT, ENACT and give this Constitution to ourselves and to our future generations.

GOD BLESS KENYA

ONUG is not aligned to a particular religion and is impartial in dealing with Kenya’s diverse ethnic, sectoral or political environment.
